Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data STELLAR MEDIA (“we”) collects, why, how we use it, and what rights you have. It is written to Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act.

1. What we collect

Depending on which features you use, in three groups:

  • Public (anyone can see): display name, @handle, bio, location, main section, social links, custom panels, and the posts and comments you publish.
  • Only you and the editors: email address, phone number (optional), and prize details — full name, date of birth, delivery address, ID number.
  • Nobody can see: your password (stored only as an irreversible hash we cannot reverse), SMS codes, and login session records.

We also record activity needed to run features: likes, saves, votes, giveaway entries, gacha pulls and point movements.

2. Why we collect it

  • To provide member features: logging in, publishing, telling you when someone replies.
  • To run giveaways and gacha: eligibility, winner notification, shipping, and tax reporting and withholding where required.
  • To keep the site orderly: spotting duplicate accounts, handling reports and rule-breaking.
  • To send you the notifications you have opted into.

3. Period, territory, recipients and method of use

  • Period: for as long as you are a member, and six months after the membership ends. Prize and withholding records that tax law requires us to keep are held for the period that law specifies.
  • Territory: Taiwan and the United States. Our database (Neon), hosting (Vercel) and image storage are all located in the United States, so your data is transferred to and stored there.
  • Recipients: us, and the service providers we engage to process data on our behalf (hosting, database, email). We do not give your personal data to anyone else except where the law requires it or you agree, and we do not sell personal data.
  • Method: stored and processed as electronic records.

4. Third-party services

We use the following, each handling data under its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database) — located in the United States.
  • Resend (verification, password reset and notification email).
  • Google Sign-In (optional) — if you choose it, we receive your Google user identifier and email address in order to create and match your account.

5. Cookies and browser storage

  • Login cookie: keeps you signed in. Blocking it means you cannot log in.
  • Browser local storage: remembers your theme choice, which articles you have read, and unsent drafts. This stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers.

6. Your rights

Under Article 3 of the Personal Data Protection Act you may exercise the following rights over the personal data we hold about you, and these rights cannot be waived in advance or restricted by agreement:

  1. Enquire about or request to review it.
  2. Request a copy.
  3. Request that it be supplemented or corrected.
  4. Request that we stop collecting, processing or using it.
  5. Request deletion.

Write to the data contact address at the foot of this page. Under Article 13, we will decide on requests (1)–(2) within 15 days, extendable once by 15 days with written notice, and on requests (3)–(5) within 30 days, extendable once by 30 days. Under Article 14 we may charge a reasonable fee for enquiries, review or copies.

Deleting some data stops the service working — removing your email address means you cannot log in. To delete your account, use the delete function in the Accounts Centre.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes. All traffic uses HTTPS and the login cookie is marked HttpOnly and Secure. Prize details and contact information are readable only by you and the editors. We take reasonable measures, but no system can be guaranteed absolutely secure. In the event of a breach we will notify you and report to the authority as required by Article 12 of the Act.

8. Minors

If you are under 18, use the site with the consent of your legal guardian. Some giveaways carry their own age limits, stated in their rules.

9. Changes

When this policy changes we update the revision date on this page, and announce material changes on the site.
